Welcome to SwingConnect.

SwingConnect is a deep dive into the many layers of Lindy Hop,
an Afro-American couple dance of the 20's-40's.

The Lindy Focus Sessions are all about concepts: by focusing on a specific topic I help you to become a more conscious Lindy Hop dancer and partner. Through different types of themes and teaching approaches you can expand your approach to dance, connection, and musicality layer by layer.

...Growing body awareness and partner connection

Each session is designed to deepen and cultivate body awareness—both your own and your partners. Through sensing, looking at, and engaging with one another in a variety of exercises, group moments, and one-to-one interactions, you explore how connection emerges in the body and frame.

Questions like "How does this feels?" or "When, where, and how can you connect to your partner in this movement?", are central throughout each session.

...Personal approach, small groups and fixed partner

Personal growth thrives on personal feedback. That’s why I keep the groups intentionally small—up to 5 or 6 couples, with no partner rotation.

This allows me to tune into each couples specific needs and offer individualized guidance within the structure of every session. Whether you’re an intermediate or advanced dancer, there’s room to meet you at your level and challenge you in a way that supports your development.

...Movement focused and revisiting the foundations

By returning to the foundations and seeing them from a different perspectiveyou discover how much more ease, freedom, and connection your dancing can have. Through a mix of educational techniques and guided exploration, I invite you to revisit the shapes you already know and experience how revitalizing they can be when approached differently.

I believe that true variation grows out of movement quality and different ways of connecting—rather than simply adding more moves.

...A space of exchange and inspiration

Wherever you are in your dance journey, I aim to guide you rather than stand in the role of a traditional teacher. My approach is grounded in curiosity: Your experiences and questions help me shape the direction of each session, making it personal, relevant, and immediately applicable to your dancing.

The exchange goes both ways. I draw inspiration from the stories you bring, the movement you show, and the discoveries you make—insights that continuously enrich the way I teach and create.

What SwingConnect is all about...

The conceptual workshops that Charlotte taught were exactly what I needed to grow further in my dancing. As a relatively experienced follower, new moves or variations already feel natural, but the Connection workshop helped me dive deeper into the quality of my connection. Charlotte’s clear structure and thoughtful progression gave me the space to focus on specific aspects of partnering, while also helping me connect the dots between technique, intention, and communication. I left feeling more grounded, more aware, and much better equipped to create a truly shared dance.

The workshop on connectivity was a real eye-opener. It offered a solid grounding — not just in discussing what connectivity means from different perspectives, but also through practical exercises that brought the concept to life. Charlotte’s hands-on approach and sharp eye made it especially valuable, giving us concrete tools to work with. The only downside? We wished there had been time to explore even more!

In this session, we explore how shifting energy and tone opens up new possibilities within the shapes you already know. Max. 5 couples
  • Explore how different body parts and musical choices shape your personal style in Lindy Hop. Strengthen your signature way of dancing while staying connected to your partner and the music. (max. 6 couples)

About Charlotte

Founder and teacher of SwingConnect

Since 2019, I've been teaching at Apollo Swing, the largest and oldest swing dance school in Belgium, where I continue to teach various levels of Lindy Hop. With a background in education, I share my love for dance with anyone eager to learn.

Together with my community partner Bauke V., I also volunteer to grow and energize the Leuvense Lindy Hop community by organizing social dances and events under the name ‘De Leuvense Hoppers’.

In the spring of 2025, I sensed a growing need for a different kind of learning experience, one where dancers could dive deeper into specific themes while practicing consistently with a regular partner.

And so, SwingConnect was born: a concept focused on mindful practice, connection, and refining technique through themed, small-group sessions.
